I had the pleasure to meet Arnie Kander, Physical Therapist and Strength and conditioning coach with the Detroit Pistons, at his home in Michigan when his wife and I lead a Pathwork transformation weekend in 2014 together. I was impressed with his knowledge about the body and the compassionate way he worked with me on some of my exercise goals. I've only heard great things about him since. Fast forward to the fall of 2018, when my knee injury flared up again. I remembered Arnie, who I hadn't talked to in awhile and reached out. Wow, did he have a lot to teach me! Working with him, even at a distance helped my knee to recover and to get back in the gym. I also learned a lot more of the nutritional and physical recovery side, and what it takes to recover fully in a holistic way.
This video of his I am sharing is an easy and short warm-up routine I try to do every day now, and especially before any type of exercise. When I was younger I could jump out of bed, and get on my bike and ride 30 miles. Now I need to warm-up properly to excel at what I am doing and to reduce easy to avoid pain! I hope you enjoy these warm-ups as much as I do!
